That night was the weirdest night I’ve ever had in my entire life. Danny took me to bed, and we laid there in silence. There was so much I needed to say and I could tell there were things on his mind, but we stayed silent. I loved feeling his arms around me, holding me close to him. I felt safe. I felt loved. I felt at home. My one true love did the unthinkable, twice. He left me, and now he came back to me. I just had to figure out if it was meant to be.

I could hear a bunch of noise from the kitchen as I slid the covers off me. I lay in bed while I tried to ponder what happened the night before. It didn’t linger too much on my mind when I smelled bacon cooking!

I wrapped my robe around me and headed to the kitchen to find my man cooking breakfast.

“Made your favorite.” His smile lit up the room. The sun shined in from the window, illuminating his smile even more. He looked different. I didn’t know what it was, but just different.

“You really are trying to fix things, aren’t you?” I walked behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, inhaling his smell some more. This was too good to be true.

“I am, and our first stop today, after breakfast, is the zoo. You have a surprise on your chair in the bedroom for this evening.” He turned his body to face me and took my arms into an embrace. Kissing my forehead he grinned and continued cooking.

I ran to the bedroom, excited to see what was waiting for me on the chair. There was a long square box with a red ribbon attached to it. I sat on the edge of the bed, untied the ribbon, and peeked in the box. There lay an invitation face up. I picked it up and it read,
